ANIKA GUPTA
Co-President
Hi! My name is Anika and I’m a fourth-year student pursuing a major in Neuroscience and a double minor in Psychology and Physiology. I'm passionate about equal access to healthcare as well as doing something about the inequities in vaccine distribution around the world and am thus excited to be working with an amazing team towards this goal. In my free time, I like to go on long walks, try my hand at a new recipe, listen to music and spend time with family and friends :)

​Hi! My name is Baylee and I am the co-president of Students for Vaccine Equity this year! I am majoring in Neuroscience and Computational Cognitive Science and minoring in Buddhist Psychology and Mental Health. I am passionate about our mission here at SVE to ensure equity of healthcare across the world and spreading that awareness as I am hoping to pursue a career in healthcare.

WEYMAN ZHAO
Co-Vice President
Hi, my name is Weyman and I'm currently in my fifth year of study pursuing a neuroscience and immunology double major. I am very passionate about promoting equitable access to healthcare and supporting low resource communities. A few of my hobbies include playing basketball, video games, and vlogging. As part of this year's SVE Exec team, I look forward to organizing memorable events for everyone in our community to enjoy.

SABRINA PEREIRA
Co-Vice President
Sabrina is a fourth-year student studying both Immunology & Neuroscience. Her experiences as a research assistant examining the immunological effects of COVID-19 vaccination in children and adults has inspired her to consider other factors within the industry, including accessibility. With a passion to better understand and increase awareness of social inequalities relating to vaccines, she aspires to advocate for positive change.

Hi I am Alex, I am in 2nd year studying Immunology and Health & Disease Major. My hobbies include soccer, basketball, chess, and piano. Through education and advocacy, I aim to empower individuals and communities with accurate information about vaccines.

NICOLE BRZOZOWSKI
Events Director
Hello! I am a second-year-student specializing in neuroscience, majoring in cell and molecular biology, and minoring in psychology. Some things I enjoy doing in my free time include traveling and yoga! I am passionate about global health equity as well and the brain. I look forward to being a part of the Students for Vaccine Equity team as director of events.

​Hi everyone! My name is Eileen (she/her), and I am a first-year Life Sciences student interested in pharmacology and immunology. I am passionate about advocating for & learning about health inequities and look forward to working with SVE this year to spread awareness regarding vaccine disparities!

RACHAEL PENG
Secretary
​Rachael is a second-year student studying immunology and physiology. She's excited to work with the SVE and spread awareness about vaccine inequity happening both in our community and around the world. In her spare time, she loves to take photos, read books, and play video games - if you have any gaming tips, please drop them, as they're sorely needed.

SAMANTHA RAHAMATALI
Director of Research
​Samantha is a fourth-year neuroscience major, and physiology and immunology double minor. Her hobbies include listening to music and learning how to crochet. She hopes to gain more awareness on why people tend to be skeptical of vaccines and learn more about what barriers keep individuals from receiving vaccines.

YVONNE NI
Director of Marketing
​Yvonne is a third-year biomedical systems engineering student at the University of Toronto. She enjoys reading books, watching documentaries, and playing musical instruments. Through SVE, she hopes to advocate for vaccine equity and raise awareness about global vaccine disparities.

DESHNAA MURALI
Treasurer
​Deshnaa is a 3rd-year pursuing a human biology major and double minor in physiology and biology. She is interested in medicine and research and hopes to bring her scientific background into the club. She's excited to join the club, meet everyone and raise awareness on vaccine distribution.

MAHNOOR BAJWA
Research Assistant
​I'm a third-year student studying human biology at the University of Toronto. I am passionate about health equity and hope to utilize my knowledge of human biology to bring awareness about the importance of vaccine access for everyone! I am excited to research facts about vaccines and share them this year.

DEFNE EREL
Research Assistant
I'm Defne, a fourth-year student pursuing a double major in Biology and Psychology, along with a minor in Immunology. I am from Turkey and have a passion for experimenting with various cuisines and baking. I'm part of SVE as a research assistant, driven by my interest in public health and my commitment to advocating for healthcare equity and awareness.

TIENDARA SATHANANTHAN
Research Assistant
​Tiendara is a first year Life Sciences student. She likes to read, do puzzles, and watch action/thriller movies. Through this club, she hopes to learn more about vaccine distribution inequality and spread awareness about the issue to the wider community.

Hello! My name is Ian and I am a 2nd year Pathobiology Specialist and a Biochemistry Major. I have many hobbies but currently I have been playing a lot of volleyball, reading and watching anime. Through this club I hope to learn more about vaccine equity and how it can be improved.
